Manuel Giandonato likened his stunning free-kick for Juventus against Manchester United last night to a David Beckham special.

The Juventus youth team player, 19, gave Juve a 2-1 victory at Old Trafford in Gary Neville's testimonial match.

"I've scored as Beckham would do, in front of Beckham himself," he declared with a smile on his face.

"In my short career, I've never had the chance of drawing attention to myself and tonight I've taken advantage of this good opportunity.

"Scoring in this wonderful stadium has been amazing, because a real football wind blows here."

Beckham featured for United in a game where the home side took the lead through Wayne Rooney.

However, Juventus, who have had a season to forget, hit back with goals from Simone Pepe and Giandonato's wonder strike.

"The game was a friendly, but it has been played as if it was true," said departing Juventus boss Gigi Del Neri.

"It was the right tribute to a great player. The whole football world will miss Gary Neville, but he will be a model for every new generation."
