The Blucerchiati’s chances of getting into the Europa League places have now evaporated after a 1-0 defeat to Sassuolo, especially as Milan and Fiorentina won today.

“At this time of the season, mental resources make the difference and we just weren’t effective upfront today. We never posed a danger,” the Coach told Sky Sport Italia.

“We did all we could, as we were missing so many players and others were only 50 per cent fit. It was a dream for a while, but we weren’t in good shape.

“This does confirm we haven’t been determined enough against the so-called ‘smaller’ sides. It’s a fact and we have to reflect on it to avoid making these same mistakes. This season, we picked up points against the top teams and gifted six to Sassuolo.”
