New Viola boss Sousa believes Genoa have an impressive attack but praises the support of the Florence public, which he believes can help carry the team forward.

“Genoa are the team that have most impressed me in terms of their attacking organisation,” said Sousa at today’s pre-match Press conference.

“This is their weapon but we will try to make it difficult for them.

“I’m very happy to hear the guys talk about our ambitions. The city has everything needed to achieve great things, the love and criticism of the public gives us strength to move forward.

“All this love that characterises the Fiorentina fans gives me hope, I’ve seen that in the 89 years of Viola history, the fans have always helped the team through difficult times.

"The criticism won’t ever lower our desire to improve. I still believe that when we have clarity and honesty in everything we do we can involve everyone in reaching our objectives.

“We know there are teams that have spent more than us, but we know we can handle playing with the support of the public.

“We’ve shown that we are on the right path. We must show consistency to consolidate the process. The various players know that during the match we can play with a three or four man defence.”
