There has been yet another incident of a Serie A player being burgled, as Genoa goalkeeper Salvatore Sirigu’s house was broken into while he was playing against Lazio.

According to the Gazzetta dello Sport, the thieves took advantage of the situation to break into Sirigu’s home in Genoa on Friday evening, during the Serie A match at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome.

This criminal gang is well-known in the area for being ‘acrobats’ – clambering up pipes to then push through windows – as a means of entry and exit from their target homes.

They got away with various pieces of gold and silver jewellery, including rings and bracelets.

The incident with Sirigu comes in the same week as Napoli forward Adam Ounas was robbed at gunpoint in his own garage in Naples and former Udinese star Antonio Di Natale and his family were held at gunpoint inside their home in Empoli.
