Theo Hernandez is back in training for Milan and could therefore face Empoli on Wednesday evening.

The France international left-back missed last night’s 1-0 home defeat to Napoli, as he was suffering from flu symptoms over the last few days.

According to reports, his condition has improved and he is back in full training with the rest of his teammates today.

Milan see out 2021 by playing Empoli at the Stadio Castellani on Wednesday at 19.45 GMT.

However, coach Stefano Pioli is very unlikely to recover any of the other players who are currently out of action.

That means Rafael Leao, Davide Calabria, Ante Rebic, Pietro Pellegri, Simon Kjaer and Alessandro Plizzari have already played their final games of the calendar year.

The Rossoneri have been sliding down the standings in recent weeks, with just seven points from the last six Serie A rounds.

They also crashed out of the Champions League, finishing bottom of the group and therefore with no more European commitments for this season.
