It is reported that Milan boss Rino Gattuso could sign a new improved deal with the club in March.

The 40-year-old, who was previously the Rossoneri’s Primavera U19 Coach, replaced the sacked Vincenzo Montella in charge of the first team at the end of November.

However, the terms of his contract remained exactly the same as when he was working with the club’s youth teams, making him the lowest-paid Serie A head coach.

As such, La Repubblica claim the San Siro hierarchy are now ready to offer Gattuso a new improved deal.

The former midfielder endured a difficult start to his time in the Diavolo dugout but 2018 has so far seen a turnaround in the club’s fortunes.

Gattuso has presided over a seven-match unbeaten run since the start of the new calendar year, including last night’s 3-0 Europa League win at Ludogorets.
