Gennaro Gattuso is “proud” to be Milan Coach, and wants to remain in the post “for as long as possible”.

The Rossoneri drew with Benevento yesterday, the first point the Stregoni had ever scored in Serie A, with a 95th-minute equaliser from their goalkeeper.

As a result, the satirical news show Striscia La Notizia presented Gattuso with the Golden Tapir, a gag prize which is given to a public figure who has been notably embarrassed or defeated that week.

“I saw a beautiful goal from Montella in the last second,” presenter Valerio Staffelli chided Ringhio.

“That wasn’t the Benevento goalkeeper, it was Montella in disguise!”

The host then asked Gattuso about rumours he’ll be replaced by Carlo Ancelotti at the end of the season.

“I took some time to get to this level and I’m proud to represent this club,” the former midfielder replied.

“I hope to stay here as long as possible. With only fight you won’t get anywhere, we need to play as a team and win games."

This is the second week in a row the Tapiro d’Or has been given to a Milan Coach, with Vincenzo Montella given the ‘award’ after his sacking last week.
