Gennaro Gattuso warned Milan not to “underestimate” Luxembourg side Dudelange in the Europa League, as Pepe Reina and Gonzalo Higuain start.

“We start from 0-0 and must not underestimate them just because it is their European debut,” warned Gattuso on Sky Sport Italia.

“On paper, we have something more than them, but watch out. I’ve had experience in Europe as a player, but it’s completely different as a Coach. Now I have to make every player understand how important this competition is and why it’s our duty to do well.
“The objective right now is to get through the round, then from the Round of 16 onwards we’ll try to find the right spirit and tempo.”
Gattuso confirmed massive squad rotation, with Reina starting in goal for Gianluigi Donnarumma in what will be his Milan debut.
“Pepe will play, he is giving the team so much and not just in football terms. He is giving the team leadership and charisma. We are learning that we can’t gift 20-30 minutes to any opponent in a match, we’ve got to be focused throughout.
“Consistency is an issue, but we must believe in the potential we’ve got in this team. Last season we realised many players were tired, so we’ll often see this situation of leaving a few at Milanello to rest and recuperate.”
Patrick Cutrone is injured, so Higuain could nonetheless start in Luxembourg.
“Gonzalo is a great champion and trains every day with enthusiasm. All strikers live for goals, he broke his duck and will have another 90 minutes tomorrow to score more.”
