Palermo boss Gian Piero Gasperini has claimed that the club cannot delude themselves, despite their 2-0 win over Sampdoria on Sunday.

The Rosanero claimed only their second win of the season at home to Ciro Ferrara's side at the weekend, but the 54-year-old Coach believes his side should not get carried away with optimism.

“Our [14th] position in the table is more positive, but it is still dangerous,” he told a Press conference. “It can change dramatically after a few games.

“We must not delude ourselves – we have to work on our weaknesses and improve our strengths.

“We have a few days without a match, so it allows us to work hard. In the past two months, the Roma match aside, the team has done well.

“We are playing some good football, but we have to continue to improve.”

He also commented on 18-year-old striker Paulo Dyabala, who scored both goals in the win over the Bluerchiati.

“He is a young player, so there are always going to be ups and downs,” he said. “But if he continues to work hard and improve, then he can achieve remarkable things.”
