The Orobici had taken 23 points from a possible 25, but went down meekly in Turin before an unlucky loss to Udinese last week.

“The loss to Udinese was hard to swallow,” Gasperini confessed in his pre-match Press conference.

“It came after one of our best performances though, so we’ll restart from that performance. There are those who think we’re in decline and it’s up to us to prove that’s not the case and that Udinese was just a blip.

“Milan? It will be a tough test for us against a team which has grown a lot, they’re young and doing well.

“I expect a different answer from my team though than the game against Juventus, we have to play with clear heads.

“We’re aware of how good Milan are but we need to redeem ourselves for the performance in Turin and we can play to the best of our ability.”

Atalanta squad to face Milan: Bassi, Cabezas, Caldara, Conti, D’Alessandro, Dramé, Freuler, Gagliardini, Gomez, Grassi, Kessie, Konko, Kurtic, Masiello, Mazzini, Migliaccio, Pesic, Petagna, Raimondi, Spinazzola, Sportiello, Toloi, Zukanovic
