Gian Piero Gasperini describes Atalanta’s match with Genoa on Sunday as an incredible opportunity for his side.

La Dea have won four of their last five Serie A encounters, a run which has taken the Bergamo club up into seventh place in the table.

“I am counting on the atmosphere being very intense, we need as much enthusiasm as possible,” Gasperini told a Press conference ahead of the meeting with the Rossoblu, who are a place lower in eighth.

“I am counting on the atmosphere being very intense, we need as much enthusiasm as possible,” Gasperini told a Press conference ahead of the meeting with the Rossoblu, who are a place lower in eighth.

“We need to live this moment. It is a matchday in which we are playing a big game against a team who want to overtake us.

“All of the ingredients are there for there to be enthusiasm. Atalanta have 16 points but there is an incredible opportunity to end October with a very high League position.”

The Coach, however, refused to be drawn on whether his players are in the battle for European places.

“It is not for us to think about Europe or different targets. We know we are up there, as long as we don’t make mistakes we will continue to be there.”
