Atalanta coach Gian Piero Gasperini was happy with ‘an excellent point’ against a resolute Milan at San Siro.

A penalty miss from Ruslan Malinovskyi and a stubborn Milan side stood in the way of claiming all the spoils on Friday night, but Gasperini was happy with the performance in the 1-1 draw.

“This was an important game for the run-in, it’s not easy to play Milan these days,” Gasperini told Sky Sport Italia after the final whistle. “We conceded in the first few minutes, then we regained balance and had a good game.

“I would say it’s an excellent point.”
