New Inter venue commercial director David Garth expects it to be “a beast of a job” and explained the problems with Serie A.

The Nerazzurri are revamping under President Erick Thohir and trying to create new revenue streams, so ex-Manchester United and Glasgow Rangers figure Garth will join Michael Bolingbroke at San Siro in March.

“I’ve done so many different things across Manchester United and it’s been a fantastic journey. But Inter Milan is a beast of a job – that was the pull of it,” he told the Bradford Telegraph and Argus.

“Italian football is a bit like England before the Premier League. They’ve never really had to go out and pro-actively sell the game beyond their country.

“The new owner is a very shrewd businessman and wants to see what the club are capable of. In effect, it’s a start-up business with 108 years of history.”
