Roma Coach Rudi Garcia singles out ‘ambition’ and ‘madness’ as the necessary attributes to defeat Feyenoord.

The Giallorossi are preparing themselves for what may be a decisive Europa League match to turn around their season, and the Frenchman is hoping for some goals to make it past the Round of 32.

“The draw in the first leg means we have to score, even though Feyenoord have quality in their squad and can play short counters,” Garcia has explained to reporters.

“We've seen enough of them in the first round to know that it will take ambition to qualify.

“Will it take a bit of madness, too? If you define that as a desire to win and a willingness to take risks, then that's what we're aiming for.

“We are driven to make it into the next round.”

Roma had their highest possession rates last Sunday against Hellas Verona, but could not achieve more than a 1-1 draw.

“The only use I have for possession is to score goals.

“Against Verona we should have been more efficient. We only conceded one opportunity and we picked up a draw for that.

“When there's a chance you've got to strike, and that's how it must be tomorrow.

“After Cagliari we did not start on the positive streak that we were hoping for.

“Only winning on the pitch can change our attitude.

“All we have to do now is work harder and win.”
