“It was an unusual game, but that night Roma proved they belong in the top spots. I have total faith in my lads, even with those incidents going against them. This team can fight it out with anyone.
“Gianni Rivera said may the best team win: I agree with him, Roma are the best team. Fans must have faith in Roma’s results. No side has a calm campaign, there are always going to be moments of turbulence, but we need to believe in what we’re doing.
“What is the secret of my rapport with the players? There isn’t one, it’s just that I cannot be a Coach without loving my players. I need to listen to them, talk to them. Having played, I still think like a player. This is why they can’t fool me when they try!”
The most representative player in the Giallorossi squad is without doubt captain Totti.

“I’ve done many things, including a TV commentator and a low level Coach. Studying gave me the opportunity to be stronger as a Coach, understanding my staff and being able to deal with them better. It’s an advantage.”
