Roma Coach Rudi Garcia has responded to Max Allegri’s assertion that finishing second would be a ‘failure’ for Roma.

The Juventus Coach yesterday stated his belief that Garcia’s insistence that the Giallorossi would lift the Scudetto means anything else would be considered as a failure.

However, the French tactician states that the only pressure Roma feel comes from within.

“We don’t need statements to put an external pressure on us,” Garcia asserted in his pre-match Press conference ahead of Roma’s trip to Atalanta.

“We give ourselves a good type of pressure, because we have our own hunger and desire to win every game. We are ambitious but the only game that matters at the moment is tomorrow.”

The former Lille Coach then reiterated his ambition of beating Allegri’s Juventus to the Serie A title, as well as qualifying for the next round of the Champions League.

“The goal is to qualify for the next round of the Champions League.

“Our ambition is to win the Scudetto. We have a number of important matches before Christmas, the first one is tomorrow.

“Then we have Champions League games both at the Olimpico and away from home.

“I told the players that they’ll be playing seven cup finals and the first is tomorrow.”
