Roma Coach Rudi Garcia denies that knowing Juventus’ result before his team take the field on Saturday is important.

Roma Coach Rudi Garcia denies that knowing Juventus’ result before his team take the field on Saturday is important.

The Bianconeri take on Fiorentina at Artemio Franchi tonight before the Giallorossi host Sassuolo tomorrow.

With the Old Lady three points clear at the top of the table, a win for the Viola would give Roma the opportunity to catch Juventus at the top, but Garcia insists he’s not thinking about that.

“We’ll watch the [Juventus] game tonight, but it doesn’t matter,” Garcia explained in his Press conference ahead of the Sassuolo game.

“I don’t want to rely on others, I want to do things our own way.

“If we win as many games as we can, we’ll get the right reward. I’m focused on us.

“The League is a marathon, you have to be prepared for every game of this championship. It’s so important to get results.”

Roma face a crunch Champions League tie with Manchester City on Wednesday, with the Lupi guaranteed to progress to the Last 16 if they win, but going out if they lose.

However, Garcia insists all eyes are on Sassuolo.

“The choices I make tomorrow will be made to win tomorrow’s game, without thinking about City.

“The form of the players is one factor of many. Tomorrow I’ll send a team out on to the pitch that I think will get three points.

“I want that, and so does the team. If we’re only at 99 per cent, we won’t succeeed.

“The team knows that, and the players I send out there will be at 100 per cent.”
