Rudi Garcia was happy for Daniele De Rossi, “a symbol of Roma,” but brushed off Erik Lamela questions until tomorrow.

The Giallorossi won their opening game of the season, as De Rossi and Alessandro Florenzi scored in a 2-0 victory away to Livorno.

“I saw the team looking relaxed,” the Coach told Sky Sport Italia.

“We played well and I am happy for Daniele, who is a symbol of Roma. We had patience, played well in defence and kept a clean sheet.”

Garcia was spotted openly speaking on the phone to his assistant in the stands, but had to be told he’s heading for a fine because that is not allowed in Serie A.

“It’s allowed in France. I had to use the phone, as the radio wasn’t working,” he candidly confessed.

Lamela was on the bench and did not play during this match amid reports he’ll be sold to Tottenham on Monday or Tuesday.

“This question isn’t important today, we’ll see what happens tomorrow. Today what counts is the team’s victory, as winning away from home is always difficult.”
