Vladimir Petkovic admits Lazio will “hold on tight” to their slender 2-1 win over Udinese after a few Olimpico scares.

Hernanes and Antonio Candreva’s penalty had given them a comfortable early lead, but the Friulani fought back after the break and threatened an equaliser.

“We used a different system to usual, were sharper in our movement and our discipline,” the Coach told Sky Sport Italia.

“I liked the way we played for an hour. Hernanes played well today, though naturally nobody is at 100 per cent.

“We will hold on tight to this result, as it was important to get three points straight away and I’m happy we were able to beat a good Udinese side.

“In the last half-hour we wasted several opportunities and the game should’ve been over by then, but as with Juventus” data-scaytid=”18″>Juventus in the Super Cup last week we struggled towards the end. Fortunately we were able to hang on to the result.”

There is talk of Lazio trying to sign Burak Yilmaz from Galatasaray or Tim Matavz from PSV.

“We’ll see. I always hope to receive great players, but if we continue creating chances as we did today, then others will be capable of scoring. We’ll first of all see who is leaving, then perhaps bring someone else in.”
