Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani is hoping for a change in Serie A fortunes in the New Year.

“We hope we have a good 2014,” the official noted given that his side are thirteenth in the table with just 19 points from 17 games.

“I expect a lot more points in Serie A, seeing as we have very few right now, but there is the odd excuse – like the many injuries.

“It’s not a great Christmas in terms of the championship, but it is if we think about the Champions League where we are the only Italian side in the last 16.”

Milan have already made use of the January transfer window by signing defender Adil Rami and Keisuke Honda, but Radja Nainggolan could also be on his way.

“It is pointless to talk about transfers,” responded Galliani when he was asked about the Cagliari midfielder.
