Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani admits ‘we’re wondering why form has dropped’ and pays tribute to Cesare Maldini.

The Rossoneri were beaten 2-1 by relegation-threatened Atalanta yesterday to continue their poor run, the day after Milan legend Cesare Maldini passed away.

“It’s a difficult moment, we were in a good rhythm and then two points in four games arrived and we’re wondering why,” Galliani said to Radio 1 Rai.

“The Coppa Italia final could change the story of this season. We have two matches against Juventus, first in the league and then the cup.

“Cesare Maldini was Milan for what he did and for what his son did. He was an elegant man, a wing-back who became a libero.

“He was the first Italian to lift the European Cup, he was a fantastic person. He and Paolo are a unique case, absolutely unrepeatable.

“I want to thank all the Italian fans who paid tribute to him yesterday, in particular those of Inter.

“We’re already talking with Berlusconi to organise something big to remember him. The entire Milan squad will be present at his funeral.”
