“Alex is a player with an important career,” Galliani began to assembled media.
“We followed him for so many years, we faced him in 2005 when he was with PSV. We tried to buy him before he signed for Chelsea.
“We beat a lot of competition to snatch Alex, whilst PSG also wanted to keep him.
“He is a major signing, we have added pounds and centimetres to our defence.”
