Massimiliano Allegri’s mentor Giovanni Galeone confirms the Juventus boss snubbed an offer from PSG and reveals he expects more signings after Angel Di Maria and Paul Pogba.

A picture of Allegri meeting PSG director Luis Campos had become viral in June (WATCH HERE), sparking speculations of a possible move to the Parc des Princes for the Tuscan boss.

His mentor and former coach Galeone has confirmed that Allegri received an offer from Paris.

Allegri also snubbed Real Madrid a year ago, returning to Juventus where he signed a four-year deal.

Does Allegri has regrets about his choice?

“Not at all,” Galeone told Tuttosport newspaper.

“When I heard rumours about PSG I called him to ask how he could have turned down their offers. He said: ‘Mister, look, I am here with my friends fishing, the scampi are still moving, where can I find something like this in Paris?’

“He is happy and has no doubts,” continued Galeone.

“He is determined to repeat what he achieved when he arrived at Juventus [the first time]. It’s not too easy, but he can try. Surely, it’s easier than last season.”

Allegri will rely on Paul Pogba and Angel Di Maria who are expected to complete their transfers to the Allianz Stadium this week.

Both players will move to Turin as free agents after the end of their contracts with Manchester United and PSG.

“Allegri knows that Pogba and Di Maria are not enough to change Juventus, although they are two fantastic signings,” said Galeone.

“Everyone who played with Di Maria speaks very highly of him. Should Juve sign someone like Mahrez of Manchester City, they’d be devastating up front.”

Juventus completed their first trophyless season in 11 years last term. They finished fourth in Serie A and lost the Coppa Italia Final against Inter. Villarreal eliminated them from the Champions League Round of 16 for the third season in a row.
