The 20-year-old striker has made just three substitute appearances in Serie A for a grand total of 20 minutes.

He arrived from Santos over the summer for €29.5m, but has struggled to fit into the tactical demands of Italian football.

Coach Stefano Pioli noted that Gabigol needed to focus more on practical moves rather than just the tricks that delight the crowd.

Curiously, the Brazilian also made his Serie A debut against Bologna at San Siro on September 25, playing 16 minutes.

Gary Medel is also expected to be back in the starting XI tomorrow evening after recovering from an ankle injury.
