Fiorentina striker Mauro Zarate could be heading back to England for Walter Mazzarri’s Watford.

The 29-year-old made only nine competitive appearances this season, nonetheless scoring four goals with one assist.

Despite the average of a goal every 69 minutes spent on the pitch, Zarate does not enter into Coach Paulo Sousa’s plans.

Earlier in the season this was also because he needed time off to help his wife through an illness, but she is now on the road to recovery.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Mazzarri is interested in bringing the Argentine to Watford FC.

It would be a return to the Premier League, as the 29-year-old has already played for Birmingham City, West Ham United and QPR.

He left the Hammers in January 2016 to join Fiorentina for €2m.
