Juventus star Paul Pogba will be forced to miss World Cup due to knee issues, so Football Italia looks at his recent physical problems, from Manchester United to Juventus.

The 29-year-old was supposed to be Juventus’ big signing for 2022-23, but the ex-Red Devil will end 2022 without having played one single minute with the Old Lady.

His agent Rafaela Pimenta confirmed on Monday that Pogba would miss the World Cup, while Juventus said that medical examinations on the player’s knee highlighted the need to ‘continue his rehabilitation program.’

Pogba missed 100 games during his six-year spell at Manchester United, mostly suffering thigh and ankle injuries.

He played his last match with the Red Devils in April, when he was forced off the pitch in an away game at Liverpool after just 10 minutes due to a calf problem.

His second spell in Turin didn’t start on the right foot as Pogba suffered a meniscus injury during a training session in Las Vegas on July 26, when Juventus were preparing for a friendly match with Barcelona.

Fearing that he would have missed World Cup, Pogba initially opted not to undergo surgery, going for conservative therapy, although Juventus had suggested the player go under the knife.

The France international trained on the pitch twice at the beginning of September, noticing that he had made no step forward in his recovery, so he was eventually forced to undergo surgery.

Juventus said Pogba would remain out of action for eight weeks following surgery. Still, his recovery time has been further stretched after the medical consultation carried out in Pittsburgh by Doctor Volker Musahl.

Therefore, Pogba will make his ‘second’ Juventus debut in 2023 and will be forced to cheer on his France teammates in Qatar from his home in Turin.

  1. All we need back now is Schillaci, Vialli, Ferrara, and Peeizzi and the squad will be complete !!! Let’s keep bringing back old washed up players!!!

  2. I’ve never seen a site rehash so much of the same material over and over again. I think I’ve read the stuff here about Pogba a dozen times across other posts. We know about Pogba’s trying to go conservative, then surgery, then rehab, blah blah. No need please to rehash facts.
