According to Il Corriere Dello Sport, Antonio Conte and Tottenham players were woken up by firecrackers outside their hotel in Marseille last night while a security meeting took place this morning.

The Italian tactician is serving a one-match ban, so he won’t be on the touchline for tonight’s Champions League clash against Marseille.

As per Il Corriere Dello Sport, the Italian tactician’s preparation for the match was not ideal as firecrackers outside the team’s hotel woke up him and his players last night.

Moreover, French authorities seem to have security concerns about Tottenham players, so an emergency meeting was held at 10.30 local time this morning to guarantee the coach’s and team’s security.

Tottenham are the Group D leader with eight points, but every team can still qualify for the Round of 16. Marseille currently sit fourth with six points, while Sporting and Eintracht have seven each.

Conte was suspended for one game after protesting for a goal disallowed by VAR in their last home Champions League match against Sporting.
