Juventus are working on renewing the contracts of a number of players, not just Paulo Dybala, with some agreements closer than others.

La Gazzetta dello Sport report that Juan Cuadrado is the closest to renewing his contract with the Bianconeri. In the Autumn, the club’s management reached an agreement with the Colombian, extending his contract for a further two years and not touching his €5m net per season salary.

Mattia De Sciglio is another player who wants to stay with the Turin side, despite receiving some interest from abroad. He has already made his desire to stay clear to the team and he has the trust of coach Massimiliano Allegri.

Things are similar for Mattia Perin; the Italian goalkeeper went from a starting shot stopper to a backup option in Turin, but he’s still happy to stay with Juventus. Negotiations have not started yet but an agreement is likely to be reached.

Finally there’s Federico Bernardeschi. The Italian winger made it obvious at the start of the year that he wants to stay with the club, and the team’s management do appreciate his contributions, so they’re open to renewing his deal. The only issue, however, is his wages. The former Fiorentina man earns more than De Sciglio and Perin, around €4m per season, and so the talks will be delicate.

  1. 2 years for Cuadrado for 5m is just too much. He is not even a starter for Juve under Allegri. Would have been better to just let him go, and then promote Soule. Anyways i hope i am proven wrong

  2. @Anon What does Soule have to do with this? Cuadrado can play in every position in the right side. He’s not just a right winger that can be replaced by a flashier, younger guy. He can play at right back too, a position that’s been an issue for Juventus.

Also, how is he not a starter under Allegri? He has the most appearances this year besides Locatelli and Morata, and has the most starts in the league along with De Ligt. He’s one of the most crucial players for Juventus in creating chances and without him, they tend to struggle.

  3. Facts.
The Master is absolutely spot on. Cuadrado, along with Chiesa, are still some of the most dangerous players on a 1v1.

  4. Cuadrado has been Juve’s most consistent player for years. He should have been renewed by now. He remains of the few players who can beat defenders on the dribble. He can also launch accurate crosses, defend on the right flank and score on occasion. No one on the club has his versatility.
