Davide Frattesi’s mother Sonia Galdo confirms the Sassuolo midfielder would like to return to Roma.

José Mourinho’s side is in talks with the Neroverdi for the Italy international, a product of the Giallorossi academy.

“I still know nothing about it. I read that he has already said yes [to Roma], but right now, he is with the national team, so he can’t be distracted,” the midfielder’s mother told Il Corriere dello Sport.

“I’d be delighted if he returns, both for him and me. He cares so much about it and I have two more young sons and life would be easier for me.

“Surely, I hope there will be updates soon,” she added.

“It would be a great satisfaction for him to wear the Giallorossi shirt again. He has always had the desire to return where he grew up. Davide understood that Roma isn’t an easy place. In Modena, it’s all different, there are fewer distractions, but he knows what he wants.

“He has proved to be a great professional. Roma have recently won a trophy and it would be a dream for him to play for the club again.”

  1. Frattesi would be lucky to be picked up by any team including Serie C the way he’s played for the National team in the Nations Cup which has been really poorly and uninspiring. Would be better off playing the old guard as this guy seemingly has no talent.
