Frank de Boer’s twin brother, Ronald, says the Inter Coach “needs time to get to know everybody”.

The Dutchman has struggled since replacing Roberto Mancini over the summer, with the Nerazzurri suffering five defeats in his first 10 games.

Those results mean the pressure is on the former defender, with Southampton visiting San Siro in the Europa League tonight.

“They are a very talented group but he only had them for two weeks before he had to start the league,” Ronald de Boer said on TalkSport.

“He needs time to get to know everybody well and the players, of course, have to know him.

“It has been up and downs – a great victory against Juve but then they lost against Roma. A lot of moments the team have played OK but there is always moments they switch off for 20 or 30 minutes and the opponents take advantage.

“You have to play for 90 minutes, but what I hear from Frank is they are a very talented group and very hungry and hopefully he gets the time to show his qualities.

"The football they have showed already has been positive in moments, but not the big part. Overall they have played some decent football, but football is 90 minutes, not 60 or 70.

"But I think he can switch it around. It is not an easy club but I still have 100 per cent confidence in my brother that he can switch it around.

“Of course, saying this as his brother means nobody believes you!”
