With reports intensifying that Inter have hired another bank to find investors or even buyers, four potential takeover candidates have emerged.

The Financial Times confirmed that Raine Group, who oversaw the auction for Chelsea over the summer, have joined Goldman Sachs in working on finding figures ready to help dig Suning out of this financial hole.

According to the latest reports, there are four candidates who are positioning themselves to make a possible takeover bid and three of them are based in the United States.

A group run by Marc Lasry, co-owner of the NBA team the Milwaukee Bucks, is one of the options, while another is Vivek Randive, who co-owns another NBA side, the Sacramento Kings.

Bahrein-based fund Investcorp had already been in advanced negotiations with the Milan takeover before they were out-bid by eventual winner Gerry Cardinale and his group.

The latest name on the list of potential Inter owners is someone a little closer to home, Swiss-Italian businessman Ernesto Bertarelli.

Sportmediaset point to Bertarelli for his love of sport, already the patron of America’s Cup sailing team Alinghi, owner of pharmaceutical company Serono and former CEO of Ubs bank.
