Juventus general manager Beppe Marotta reportedly met with Diego Forlan's agent yesterday, but nothing positive came of their discussion.

Daniel Bolotnicoff apparently had a long discussion with Marotta about the Atletico Madrid striker's future only to establish that he would cost too much to sign.

Juventus are in the market for a world class striker and had hoped to lure the Uruguay international to Italy either in January or June.

It now looks as though Sevilla's Luis Fabiano is the club's top target, although Juventus are also said to be unwilling to meet his asking price.

Juventus had offered to take the player on loan until the end of the season at a cost of €2m.

However, Sevilla are only prepared to sell the Brazil international and would like €10m for the privilege.
