Florenzi was an unused substitute against Inter over the weekend, but the right-sider is set to make his long-awaited comeback against Chapecoense in a friendly on Friday.

“Captain against Chapecoense? It’ll be great, a double-whammy of emotion. I don’t feel any anxiety but a lot desire,” he told Roma Radio.

“I’ve waited 10 months for this moment. Two injuries? I followed the same line of recovery as my first one.

“It was a case of bad luck. Apart from the first month and a half, where I felt a bit disoriented, I came back great.

“Six-and-a-half months have passed and I’m feeling good. Support from my friends? They give you that extra something.

“I don’t wish it on anyone, but it gives you something more in your head. You become stronger.

“You have to surround yourself with people that you know won’t let you down.”

Florenzi then gave his opinion on the Giallorossi’s club-record capture of striker Patrik Schick from Sampdoria.

“Schick? We signed a great player, a future champion,” concluded the 26-year-old.
