The Italian international was hit by a cruciate ligament injury in October, but is aiming to return to the pitch before the end of the season.

“The knee is making good progress,” Florenzi said in an interview with FIFA Magazine.

“It’s going pretty well and we’re all happy with the way things are going. What we need to do know is see how the knee holds up to increasing strain.

“The club is like a second family to me, my second home. Even when I was a young boy I dreamed of pulling on the shirt for this club one day, and I did everything I could to make that dream come true.

“The fact I managed it makes me really proud.”

The Giallorossi are going for the Scudetto this season, and Florenzi believes they can overhaul Juventus.

“We’ll certainly pull out all the stops to snatch the title away from Juventus. It’s going to be hard but we’ve got a good team and we’re improving all the time.”
