The 23-year-old has one goal in four senior caps for Italy, but was not in Cesare Prandelli’s 30-man preliminary squad for the tournament in Brazil.
“I reacted like an ambitious player,” confessed Florenzi at a public event today.
“I had this dream, but there are another two World Cups I can play in, so I will wait for them.”
Florenzi also commented on his rapport with captain Francesco Totti.
“It’s very easy to get along with him, as he’s almost an old man! He likes the simple life and is humble. He always kept a special eye out for me.”
