For their leading striker, it is just a case of circumstance and numbers.
“With three available places it is hard to get into the Champions League,” Rossi has told the Gazzetta dello Sport.

“With three available places it is hard to get into the Champions League,” Rossi has told the Gazzetta dello Sport.
“It has been difficult in recent years and will be again next season because the top teams have strengthened.
“But we will always try. The problem is that if Fiorentina played in another League then they would already have had two chances in the competition in the last two years, but here fourth place is not the same thing.”
Fiorentina are once more in the Europa League for the coming season and, according to Rossi, are ready to again take it seriously.
“It may have been that in the past some took the Europa League lightly, but we will not do so for sure.
“We care so much and last year we also had the misfortune to face Juventus in the second round, as otherwise who knows…
“As for the [upcoming pre-season friendly] against Real Madrid, it goes without saying that we will use it as a final test, as it is our final friendly and we will try to make a good impression.
“Even away from the Bernabeu, when up against Madrid it is never normal. I remember when I was playing with Villarreal every time and it was like trying to take nine points – games with Madrid and Barcelona were worth three times as much.”
