Former Italian international Sebastiano Nela has claimed that Fiorentina intend to sell Stevan Jovetic this summer.

Speaking with Radio CRC on Wednesday afternoon, the now football pundit suggested that we should be prepared to see Jovetic on the move.

“Lele Oriali didn’t agree to become the club’s new sporting director because they want to sell Jovetic,” the ex-Roma, Genoa and Napoli full-back noted.

“I think that the Viola’s plans for the future are tangled at the moment.”

Oriali, formerly of Inter, last month turned down the opportunity to succeed Pantaleo Corvino in Florence.

Since then, Daniele Prade has been handed the job – although he made it clear at his unveiling that the Montenegro ace would stay.

“Stevan Jovetic is an amazing player and will be our starting point, as he is at the centre of the project,” the former Roma official noted.

“Of course we’ll talk it over with him and see what he thinks, but he is the first building block of the squad.”
