Fiorentina are reportedly ready to challenge Napoli for Juventus defender Daniele Rugani.

The Partenopei are believed to be keen to take the young defender, at least on loan, who has made just one cameo appearance since returning to Turin this summer from Empoli.

The Italian Under-21 international worked with Vesuviani Coach Maurizio Sarri in Tuscany, but could be tempted to move closer to Stadio Carlo Castellani.

Gianluca Di Marzio’s website reports that, along with Napoli, Fiorentina have sounded-out the Bianconeri regarding a possible loan move.

The Viola have been seeking a central defender, having missed-out on a deal for Milan’s Philippe Mexes this summer.

Benfica centre-back Lisandro Lopez is also thought to be on the radar, but a six-month loan deal for Rugani would represent a lower-cost option.
