Fiorentina met with Lucas Torreira’s agent Pablo Bentancur today as they work to sign him from Arsenal.
The 26-year-old Uruguayan midfielder has seemingly re-found his form in Florence under Vincenzo Italiano after joining the club on loan last summer and he appears keen to stay in the Tuscany capital, posting an Instagram story yesterday where he wrote “I chose to be part of a great family. This is Florence”.
As reported by FirenzeViola, Torreira’s agent Bentancur visited the Fiorentina sporting centre today to meet with the club’s management. Whilst it was not the decisive meeting, it was important for moving things forward a little.
Fiorentina have already agreed a €15m option to buy clause with Arsenal but their hoping to secure his signature sooner than the summer, possibly for a lower fee.
Torreira has made 22 Serie A appearances so far this season, for a total of 1895 minutes. In that time, he’s scored two goals and provided one assist.
