Paulo Sousa believes his Fiorentina can beat Napoli tomorrow as “we have good quality”.

The Viola haven’t beaten the Partenopei in their last five attempts, drawing one and losing one last season, and they welcome Maurizio Sarri’s side to Artemio Franchi tomorrow.

“Last year against them we didn’t give a good account of ourselves,” Sousa admitted in his pre-match Press conference.

“We struggled to be competitive from start to finish. We have good quality, so we’ll see tomorrow. I believe that our team can do it.

“They’re a really well equipped team both defensively and offensively. They have individuals who can decide a game with one piece of play.

“We have to be consistent in both halves, with the ball at our feet.

“As a player I was born in a 4-3-3 and Sarri is one of the best practitioners of this formation, I like the football his teams play.

“His Napoli have been able to exploit the absence of a striker like [Gonzalo] Higuain to enhance other attackers like [Dries] Mertens.

“The fans? The Curva Fiesole always gives us a boost, but that will be especially true against Napoli. Sarri’s team press high and with great intensity, but we can beat them.”

Fiorentina’s Europa League opponents, Borussia Monchengladbach have just sacked their Coach, André Schubert, how will that affect the tie?

“It’s too early to think about it. We’ll have to analyse the things that the new Coach brings to the team.”

This is the last round of fixtures before the winter break, and the Viola boss was asked for his analysis of the season so far.

“I believe Roma can challenge Juventus until the end,” Sousa replied.

“The revelation of the season has been Atalanta, no doubt about that.

“Who will be top-scorer? Hopefully one of our players…”
