Sampdoria patron Massimo Ferrero defines himself as a ‘street artist’ and reveals he had been dreaming of taking over his local club Roma.
Ferrero, who took over the Blucerchiati in June 2014, grew up in the Testaccio neighbourhood in Rome and has revealed he imagined running the Giallorossi.
“But in the end, it didn’t happen,” he told La Repubblica. “It’s true, I dreamt of taking over the club, but in a distant day.

“But in the end, it didn’t happen,” he told La Repubblica. “It’s true, I dreamt of taking over the club, but in a distant day.
“[I’m from] Testaccio. Where Claudio Ranieri, my current coach at Sampdoria, comes from.
“They were free and complicated times. Those who had problems went to steal wallets on the bus. We were very poor, we struggled to arrive at the end of the day.
“Jumpers lasted for generations. The patches aged on the elbows. The values were the true goals.”
He was asked to define himself as a person and claimed he was ‘born’ to entertain.
“I’m a street artist, one who goes around with his instrument, bread, love and imagination,” he added. “I was born for that; I always had the timing of a comedian.”
