Italy Under-21 boss Ciro Ferrara is happy with the spirit his players showed in a friendly against Swiss side Bellinzona during a training camp in Rome.

The 43-year-old is gradually re-establishing his reputation as a Coach a year on from when Juventus fired him after a disastrous spell in charge of the Turin giants.

"I had no need of being brought back to life," Ferrara said.

"I am happy because I have seen the right spirit and the lads are happy. I note the sense of belonging, the pleasure in the dressing room, the harmony within the age group."

Ferrara was also happy that 15 members of his squad were born either in 1991 or 1992.

"This is a statistic that I would like to underline," he concluded.
