There is a double transfer deal in progress, snubbing Cagliari, as Roma loan Riccardo Calafiori to Genoa, who in turn release Mohamed Fares for Torino via Lazio.

The January window is in full swing and many Serie A clubs are chopping and changing their squads.

Calafiori had been on the verge of joining Cagliari on loan last week, with the Giallorossi suddenly pumping the brakes.

That gave Genoa time to get involved and reach an agreement with both the full-back and his club.

It is now reported that Calafiori will have his medical with Genoa on Thursday morning.

In turn, this allows Genoa to release Fares, who was mid-way through a season-long loan from Lazio.

He failed to make much of an impact at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris and will instead now complete the season on loan at Torino instead.

Algeria international left wing-back Fares is expected to have his medical with Ivan Juric’s club on Friday.
