Roma pair of outcasts Borja Mayoral and Gonzalo Villar are expected to have their medicals tomorrow for loans to Getafe.

Both Spaniards had dropped out of the squad under coach Jose Mourinho, especially following the 6-1 Europa Conference League defeat to Bodo/Glimt in Norway.

According to Sky Sport Italia, both Mayoral and Villar will have their medicals with Getafe on Thursday ahead of a six-month loan.

While Roma own midfielder Villar, the situation around Mayoral is a little more complicated.

The Giallorossi signed the striker on a two-year loan from Real Madrid in October 2020 at a cost of €2m with an option to buy in June 2022 for €20m.

Roma decided some time ago not to activate that option, although it remains within their rights to do so.

It’s reported Getafe taking Mayoral for six months will allow Roma to save €500,000 for the loan fee and his salary will also be covered by Getafe during that spell.

They aren’t the only ones leaving the Stadio Olimpico, as full-back Riccardo Calafiori will have his medical for a loan with Genoa tomorrow.
