Nicolò Fagioli, the Juventus youth prospect who played a key role in Cremonese’s promotion to Serie A, discussed his dreams for the future and his football idol.

The 21-year-old Italian midfielder joined the Serie B outfit on loan last summer and he quickly managed to impress, becoming a nailed-on first team regular. Fagioli has scored three goals and provided seven assists in 33 league appearances this season and he looks ready to compete in the topflight.

Speaking to Tuttosport, Fagioli first discussed if he was ready to play for the Juventus first team.

“Yes, that’s still my dream, but I don’t know my future or Alvaro Morata’s future. Now I’m enjoying this victory, then there will be time to talk with the Juventus directors and my agents.”

He revealed that there’s no guarantees about his future with Cremonese.

“It doesn’t depend on me, but I feel good here.”

He spoke about which Juventus players first congratulated him for his promotion.

“The first were Chiesa and Morata. I’ve had a very good relationship with Alvaro and his family since last year.”

The 21-year-old midfielder commented on his growth and development.

“First of all in the mentality, that is to be on the ball every day to reach an important goal such as promotion to Serie A. It was also formative to live in a locker room composed of good young people and experienced players.

“It’s a great experience that comes on top of the fundamental path I followed with the Juventus Under-23 team. The Bianconeri U-23 have a great project, I wish they could get to Serie B.”

Finally, Fagioli spoke bout his footballing idol.

“Modric. At dinner I would ask him how he can still be so hungry.”

The 21-year-old Fagioli is hoping to break into the Juventus first team but he’s facing competition from fellow youth prospects Nicolo Rovella and Fabio Miretti. Massimiliano Allegri is set to only bring one of these three into his squad, so it’ll be an anxious few weeks for the young talents.
