Dutch club PEC Zwolle have appointed former Lazio, Milan and Netherlands defender Jaap Stam as their new Coach.

Stam takes over a Zwolle side in the Eredivisie relegation zone, in his first role since leaving Reading back in March.

The 46-year-old won a Coppa Italia with Lazio in 2004 and was part of the Milan team who finished runners-up to Liverpool in the Champions League the following season.

Zwolle, for their part, have several Mino Raiola clients on their books, including Sassuolo pair Gianluca Scamacca and Alessandro Tripaldelli, plus ex-Juventus midfielder Ouasim Bouy.

They have also been linked with bringing in Italy starlet Moise Kean – another player on Raiola’s books – on loan next month.
