Juventus look set to stick with 3-5-2 against Borussia Monchengladbach tonight, with Max Allegri torn between Alex Sandro and Patrice Evra for left wing-back.

Martin Caceres and Stephan Lichtsteiner are both injured, meaning the Bianconeri do not have a natural right-back fit.

Recent matches have seen a fluid formation, with Juan Cuadrado notionally at right wing-back, but Andrea Barzagli switching to right-back to make a back-four on occasion.

Recent matches have seen a fluid formation, with Juan Cuadrado notionally at right wing-back, but Andrea Barzagli switching to right-back to make a back-four on occasion.

Allegri is expected to stick with that approach, but there is some confusion over whether Alex Sandro or Evra will be given the nod on the left.

Calciomercato, Tuttosport and Gazzetta dello Sport expect the Frenchman to start, but a more recent report from Mediaset is confident Sandro will be given the role.

Mario Mandzukic’s return to fitness should see him partner Alvaro Morata up-front, with a central-three of Claudio Marchisio, Sami Khedira and Paul Pogba in midfield.

Leonardo Bonucci and Giorgio Chiellini will line-up alongside Barzagli at the back, while Gigi Buffon will – barring injury –  break Alessandro Del Piero’s record for most minutes played for the club, as he’ll start in goal.

Probable Juventus team to face Borussia Monchengladbach: Buffon; Barzagli, Bonucci, Chiellini; Cuadrado, Marchisio, Khedira, Pogba, Alex Sandro; Mandzukic, Morata.
