According to The Star newspaper, Everton will come down hard on Kean and fine him two weeks of wages, which in his case would be around £160,000.

“Everton are appalled to learn of an incident in which a first-team player ignored Government guidance and club policy in relation to the coronavirus crisis,” read a statement last night.

“The club has strongly expressed its disappointment to the player and made it clear that such actions are completely unacceptable.

“The amazing people in the NHS deserve the utmost respect for their hard work and sacrifice. The best way to show them respect is by doing everything we can to protect them.”

The 20-year-old has just one goal in 26 competitive games for Everton, so was already linked with a return to Serie A for Inter, Roma or Napoli.

Juventus sold him for €24m plus bonuses last summer, but he failed to settle.
