Everton are hoping to convince Marcelo Bielsa to become their new head coach but have lined up Davide Ancelotti as an alternative, reports detail.

The Toffees currently sit 19th in the Premier League table and are without a head coach after their decision to miss Frank Lampard on Monday. The Toffees’ top pick to replace the former Chelsea midfielder is Bielsa, who won plaudits in England for his successful time in charge of Leeds United.

As reported by The Daily Mail, Bielsa has landed in London today to meet with Everton and discuss the idea of becoming their new head coach.

The Toffees don’t want to be caught empty handed, however, and so have lined up Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti’s son Davide as an alternative.

The 33-year-old Ancelotti has worked with his father since 2012, when he joined PSG as a fitness coach. He continued to follow the elder Ancelotti around Europe and has been his assistant coach since 2016, working with him at Bayern Munich, Napoli, Everton and Real Madrid
