Juventus have been drawn with Vincenzo Grifo’s Freiburg in the Europa League Round of 16, while Roma will face La Liga side Real Sociedad.
The Bianconeri have qualified for the Round of 16 beating Nantes in the knock-out play-off. They will face Bundesliga side Freiburg playing the first match at home on March 9 and the second leg in Germany the following week.
This means Italy international Grifo will return to Italy. The 29-year-old has recently become the most prolific Italian player in the Bundesliga, overcoming 2006 World Cup winner Luca Toni.
The former Hoffenheim man has 13 goals in 29 appearances across all competitions this season and made his Italy debut in November 2019, scoring four goals in eight matches.
Mourinho’s Roma will also play the first leg at home, against La Liga side Real Sociedad.
The Giallorossi eliminated RB Salzburg in the knock-out play-off, reacting to a 1-0 loss in Austria with a 2-0 victory in Roma on Thursday.
